Here's a rather pretty one...
…thanks for sharing that, Jochen - a lovely sight indeed. It's striking how you've captured the rivalry btwn our earthbound lights & the great blaze of the heavens.
I envy you that view, TBH, as the night sky here hasn't a chance against the glare of NYC;-)
As it happens, in one of those strange coincidences that seem to haunt me whenever I'm anyways near s.c.i., only last week I came upon a copy of a relatively new volume of contemporary poetry from N.I. that includes this poem by Jean Bleakney, featuring yer man Orion.
*&* it reminded me of the thread some while ago w/ your observations of the lunar occultation of Venus - so how could I resist posting it?
The vol. is quite worth a look…

Well proud of the horizon,
undressed to kill, the both of them
- full moon all bosomy white,
and Venus, faceted, glimmer,
as bold as you like;
admiring one another
as well they might
and amplified because of it.
Between, caught up in the cross-talk,
Orion: Mighty Hunter, skirt chaser,
tormentor of the Pleiades
– but not such a big lad tonight.
As body outlines go
he’s a bit splayed out,
a bit of a John Doe,
now that the girls are back in town.
