Tenei te tangata puhuru huru
Nana nei i tiki mai
Whakawhiti te ra
Upane Upane
Upane Kaupane
Whiti te ra
Hi!

This is the hairy man
Who fetched the Sun
And caused it to shine again
One upward step! Another upward step!
