This is a Trail Designs Brand Vest, Model 727. I have seen it marketed as a survival vest, a hikers vest, a fisherman's vest, and a photographers vest. It is made of medium weight olive drab cotton. The empty vest weighs a bit under two pounds. Bottom line is that it has a lot of pockets - 20 pockets of various sort and a number of other features.

It weights 7 pounds with the items shown here. The sheath knife is kept with - but not in - the vest. When in use, it goes on the belt and weighs 13 ounces. Actual contents evolve over time. Items are packed for wearing comfort. Thought is given to hitting the deck and crawling. I have two of these bought years apart and the details vary a bit but not in any important way.
