Once upon a time, in the misty past when there was no such thing as the
World Wide Web, those who were looking for rides would place little cards
on hooks on a wall somewhere. That wall was called a "rideboard", and
that's what this list is for. That and nothing else, please (except
maybe for a little discussion of things to do and places to visit
along the way). People in the Midwest who want rides, or people passing
through the Midwest to take on riders to go to the Burning Man Festival or
similar events at some of the regional events, including

Regrettably, we've had to go to using a restricted membership list. (You'll have to apply for a membership, and your posts will be moderated for a while after you join). This was made necessary by a bizarre spamming incident involving Middle Eastern politics. Our hall of shame now has its first eight members (or would that be one?), whoever he might be. We never did find out. But, at least we do have an odd little story to tell, one that gets stranger by the minute.
Should something like this (or anything else this objectionable) take place again, we do have a complaint form that you can and should use when something this inappropriate this is going on.
