Roads or no roads, I tend to think that it boils down to one thing... that you are on public land, and in reality, the same laws apply whether you're in your tent or standing in the middle of center camp. Just be thankful that they're not busting you for lewed acts even if you're concealed in your camp. They /can/ do that, you know. You're still on public land.
