It gets into a person's right to privacy, which is important and more and more seriously threatened, and many other things that have been brought up. However, in all this discussion, don't forget to look at YOURSELF. The basic assumption so far seems to be that this just has to do with the "audience," i.e. Who is entitled to see pictures of me? I mean, to give an example, if you were really hoping some chicks would get semi-comatose and give it all away there in front of the fire, and are pissed because it didn't happen and you know them bitches would have done it if them damn videocameras wasn't there - well maybe you ought to look at that in yourself. I happen to think that these festivals are essentually spiritual events. Not "religious" events, but "spiritual" events. I came in with as much spiritual trash (all the stuff that holds you down and keeps you from The Light) as anyone and when the corn burned I hope I threw some of it in the fire. If you haven't, it's not too late to take advantage of the opportunity. Also, it seems to me that at least some of the vilification of the organizers of the fest is displaced. As far as I can tell they were out front about their policy and there was nothing furtive about the videotaping. I mean, I guess they could have put up signs and/or made an announcement over the sound system, but I don't think there was really any reason for anyone to think, beforehand, that this was going to turn into such a big issue. All in all I thought the atmosphere, the "space" they created, was very positive. --- End forwarded message ---
