When you arrive, you'll probably notice that the url for the blog refers to somebody named "Tim Skirvin", who is mentioned on a few pages on this site ( 1 2 ) and not to Fred Cherry. Why?
Because Mr.Cherry is said to have died in July of 2003, that's why. The odds of my writing about the man again are low enough that I hesitate to start a blog just about him. The stories of Cherry and those like him and of the so-called "Cabal" are so tightly intertwined, that should more Cherry stories need to be told, they won't be out of place on a Cabal-centered blog, anyway.
Assuming that I ever bother to post to it. I assume that you're checking this out of curiousity, and you're welcome to do so, but in 2009, how much do most of us care about Usenet? True, Mr.Skirvin does present us with an annoying story, one in which he is granted unearned power in adolescence just for being mouthy enough, and sees that power formalised in young adulthood (see: big 8 management board), but is it a story we haven't all heard in one form or another a hundred times before, and usually with much more at stake?
The blog is over here. Read it if you wish.
