No, I'm not really a Nazi, so before anybody sends me any e-mail asking me where this insane death wish came from, let's understand each other. This is a story about rumors, and how they get started. I'd like to write a story about how they are laid to rest, but I'm a little unclear on that one, myself.

Fred responded to a political disagreement, by trying to spread a rumor that I was a Nazi. Oh, and a homosexual supporter of NAMBLA (the North American Man-Boy Love Association) as well. Offline, this lead to great mirth, because I was, shall we say, more than slightly Jewish. Conservative, to be exact. Forget about keeping kosher, I wouldn't even touch a light switch on the sabbath. As for NAMBLA, I was a vocal advocate of "stop by chop" (*). My views may have softened, but they still aren't very favorable.

The events leading up to this accusation were curious, to say the very least. Read and be bewildered.

(*) That means exactly what it sounds like. Yes, I used to be in favor of castrating rapists and child molesters. I had a definite leaning toward "an eye for an eye". My views have changed, to put it mildly - I'm now a member of the Campaign to End the Death Penalty. Learning more about the criminal justice system made the difference.
