Fire: The Quagmire
I'm not sure if 'sarcasm' or 'irony' applies.
After the all of endless days of the California fire quagmire, it's time for America to admit that it can't win this battle. We must immediately withdraw our forces and go home. But until our so-called "leaders" in Washington wise up to the folly of their current course, all we can do is ask ourselves, "why does fire hate us?".
A special note....just in case:
My beloved bride and I lived and worked in the northern reaches of San Diego County in the 1980s. It is a beautiful place to live. We have been dismayed at the damage done by the fires and are very concerned about the people living in that area. Those working to contain the fires are heroes of the first order in my opinion.
Just as are those that fought and continue to fight in other "quagmires" around the globe.
