Cleaning Up The Sidebar
The old sidebar is in need of an update. So here we go.
James Lileks' "Screed Blog" is gone. He hasn't updated it in forever and has apparently moved on to other projects. You can still read his main blog and catch tidbits of snarky goodness.
Robb Allen's "Sharp as a Marble" has moved. Robb finally got his own domain name. Lucky stiff. And it is time that my blog roll reflected the change.
As my regular 3.2 readers know, I occasionally blog about issues related to new power sources. I recently ran across the Gas2.org site. They have lots of tidbits regarding different energy sources; from growing fuel from algae to the latest technological improvements. Gas2.org is a constant reminder that we already know how to solve our energy problems. All we have to do is get the oil company executives....and a few anti nuclear power folks....out of the way. Give it a try!!
Somehow, the blog roll didn't look right without some sort of military presence. So in goes Blackfive! For those with little experience with full bore military pride and enthusiasm, get a scarf and tie your hair down. Lots of fun and a pretty good view of the issues that military and former military folks think are important. We don't always agree, but we try to keep the discussion interesting.
[Late addition - Of course, there used to be a military presence in the form of Lt. Smash's Indepundit. But his site has vanished. So it got deep sixed from the blog roll as well. Robb Allen, mentioned above, is a former Marine as well.]
Not that I don't still appreciate Aaron McGruder's "Boondocks", but it has been in re-runs for a few years, so out it goes from my comics list.
In goes a link to my Houston Chronicle customized comics page. That way I can always check them out even if I'm not at home.
Brad Guigar has let "Greystone Inn" fall by the wayside. Instead he is working on a feature called "Evil Inc." It is a strip about comic strip heroes and villains that live together...sort of...in the same city. They even get married...to each other...and have kids!!
I want to put in an extra plug for Sinfest. This strip is one of the best comic strips around. One thing that makes it so great is that Tatsuya presents so many religious/philosophic issues in ways that are thoughtful and unique....if occasionally over the top.
And finally, I've added quick links to all of my quilting projects. Now that I have completed enough quilts to make a semi-respectable list, it will be helpful to have all of those entries in one location. I was tempted to call the last one "Furry Beast That Grows Within", but I'd have probably gotten a beating for that one.
Check out the link for Garrett's quilt as his dad gave me a couple of pictures of the wee tyke. He's a keeper. But his mom and dad already knew that.
Back to our regularly scheduled kvetching presently.
