Last winter, Congressman Mark Schauer voted for a pork laden stimulus bill that put our country another $700billion in debt. He couldn't be bothered to read the bill first and instead trusted Nancy Pelosi's word that everything would be OK.
This summer, Mr. Schauer voted for the Cap and Trade bill without bothering to read it either. We know that he didn't read the bill as he recently told a gathering of Jackson citizens that it was a tax cut. In reality, the Cap and Trade bill is designed to double our power bills by doubling the cost of energy produced from coal, natural gas, and other energy sources.
Now we find that Mr. Schauer can't be bothered to listen to the concerns of his constituents before voting to completely socialize the American healthcare system. He can't be bothered to hear concerns about rationing. He can't be bothered to hear concerns about government bureaucrats that would be in charge of whether or not a senior citizen would be eligible for life saving care. He doesn't want to hear about how our current health care system, flawed as it is, produces medical and pharmaceutical innovations that are nothing short of miracles. He doesn't want to hear that the rest of the world enjoys the benefits of our medical innovations without bothering to pay for the research that makes it all possible.
He doesn't want to hear complaints about this half baked health care plan because neither he nor any other member of Congress will ever have to use it. Congress already has great health insurance; funded by us.
We know that Mark Schauer can't read and he can't listen. Is there anything else he can't do?
At this rate, he probably can't get re-elected to Congress either.
Since he can't be bothered to listen to complaints at town hall meetings, maybe he'll pay attention to this.
