Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

Thanks!

This should help me a lot in tracking down the problem!  This makes it sound more like the iniAutoMove table (or another uninitialized table) is the problem.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

John
since tried a fresh installation of v593 and v600 neither of which works. the only copy of mp3boss i have which does work is v057 which does work with all upgrades through to v603
is it possible that this feature hasn't worked correctly since v057?

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

I tried yahs suggestion -- clean install of v0.603 on WinXP -- and AutoMove worked OK for me.  I'm loading now on another computer to see if I can get the problem there.

Could you run Dependency Walker and send me the file?

Anybody else seeing this problem?

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

ok here is what i did

first i zipped upworking directory from yesterday
then uninstalled mp3boss
then installed 603
tried it and it gave same errors
i tried several times to run dependency tracker and it never would run looked like it had erros from the beginning i tried the different comands and nothing ever worked so i am sending you some of the files i saved. so anyhow since i wanted to start scanning my pc again and i had 603 loaded i said to myself what the heck let me try installing 57 on top of 603 and after the install it asked for a reboot something that 603 does not and after the reboot i tried mp3boss and it apeared to work ok
problem was when i tried to copy the files from the zip file i saved earlier i must have done something wrong as i could not get it to work properly

so i uninstalled again and this time i loaded 57 and once i had it installed i went and deleted the mp3boss directory and unzipped the files and this time everything was back to the way it was when i started the files from yesterday about 16000 were on my list and auto move works go figure

hope that helps

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

Are you running 0.57 now or 0.603?

My research suggests this may be an Access problem that can randomly appear on a few computers...and that I'll need to just trap & ignore the error (in the next release).

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

Were any of the Dependency Walker files run after you got v0.603 AutoMove working?  If not, could you run it again and send me the file?

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

How is v0.607 going?  Do you still have this problem?

I've never been able to reproduce the problem...and I've tried a LOT...on 4 different computers.

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

hi john

same problem still occurs. I thought it had cleared when I installed 607 (full version). i installed it to the same directory as previous. However when i recloned the drive and did a fresh install without a prevoius copy of v57, the same problem showed up, so same solution applied i.e install v57 on top and then reinstall 607 on top of that.
Is this anything to do with versions of dll,s that are installed when access runtime or v 57 is installed?

a different question. recently compared titles and filenames to check for wrong tags and i discovered about 15 files that scan incorrectly.
filename: 24 hours etc. title: hours etc; filename: 25 or 6 to 4. title: or 6 to 4. i have other songs that scan correctly, ie 2000 light years scans as 2000 light years. I have checked the tags in tag & rename and all appears okay, but this happens every time I scan.
Not  a problem, just interested to know what's happenning.

v 607 is working well, I'm now using winamp 5.3 with no problems though it might take slightly longer to load.

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

The automove has me stumped.  I'm sure you are right that it has something to do with a DLL version...but so far I haven't been able to reproduce the problem.

You are running WinXP, correct?

********************
Do those 15 files have embedded tags?  If so, could you send me one of them so I can scan it here?  If they don't have embedded tags, I'm sure the problem is related to trying to figure out the track number...and MP3-Boss guessing wrong that "24 hours" translates to Track: 24 and Title: Hours.  Surprisingly complicated to try to get this right all the time.

If the track (or title) is embedded in the file, the problem shouldn't occur.  If there aren't any tags, then it should work if audio fingerprinting is turned on and the song is in the database.

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

Hi John

Success I hope

the oldest version i have after 0.57 is 0.593, so i thought i'd check the automove feature and i have discovered that is doesn't work on any version from 593 onwards.

having time on my  hands i cloned a fresh copy of xp and produced a listing of system32, I then installed 0.57 checked that it worked okay and got a list of system32. i then recloned to a fresh copy of xp and installed 0.593 checked (didn't work) and got a list of system32.
I then compared the lists in excel and found 4 extra files in 0.593;
ASPIshim.dll,AudioGenie.ocx,MCDBurnerCon.ocx and uFREEDB.ocx but crucially 1 file in 0.57 that was missing from 0.593 comdlg32.ocx.
comdlg32.dll appears in both but comdlg32.ocx is only in the 0.57 installation.

removing comdlg32.ocx produced the error in 0.57
so a new installation of 607 (didn't work) but as soon as i copied comdlg32.ocx into system32 automove worked.

At least that's what happened on my machine

Not Bothered about the files yet, that will wait thanks

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

Thanks!

Amazing that it was that simple file...now the question is only why I still need it!

Around v0.58x I changed all of the comdlg calls to API calls because some people had trouble with the activex comdlg32 installation.

I'll look closely at the code and try to figure out why there is still a reference to the comdlg.

Thanks again!

Re: Internet Explorer Beta 7 Compatibility Problem?

I've confirmed that comdlg32.ocx was the problem -- by moving it out of my windows/system32 directory I got the error.

This should be fixed in v0.608.

Do you see the problem with any other windows/dialogs?
