v0.592 Beta released -- Dec. 07, 2004 <Release Candidate!>

Only a few changes:
CD/DVD scanning recognizes that multiple drives are equivalent
Duplicate matching gives popup dialog when complete (and shows # of exact/partial matches).

IF YOU ARE HAVING CD SCANNING PROBLEMS -- CLICK THE Utilities/Misc/CD-Drive Refresh button to rebuild the CD tables!

Thanks for your help!

In theory you should only need the v0.592 update release.  However, if you want to do a full installation, you can use the v0.592 full version release.  Don't forget to backup what you have!  In particular, it is possible that a final release might require that you revert back to v0.582 data (or earlier) because of database update issues.

The latest Beta 592 is back at zero.  It will not do a re scan (added files).

Wow -- you want everything! LOL

I'll take a look.  I'm surprised that scanning changed, since I only added a few more lines of code.

Does it treat both of your CD/DVD drives as equivalent?

Re: v0.592 Beta released -- Dec. 07, 2004 <Release Candidate!>

v0.592 seems to be working OK for me here.  It will find new files, but also treat an unchanged CD as identical as I move it between my drives H: and I:.

What are your scan settings in Config?  I'm going to change the defaults to:
Scan, Ignore SerialNumber
Update Serial Number

However, these settings mean that you need to make sure that you keep the same Volume_Label every time you add to the multisession CD/DVD.  I've found that SOMETIMES, Nero will change the Volume_Label to NEW instead of keeping what was there.

There could be lots of problems if almost every CD in your collection has the same label (e.g. NEW), since MP3-Boss will try to matchup the directory structure when scanning.  Maybe I need to add a "This is the first time I've scanned this disk" checkbox to the scanner page so that then it won't try to matchup the directory structure.

Also, things won't update as well if you switch the scan settings AFTER scanning a writeable disk, since with "Normal Scan" I don't store the DiskID/CRC32 information.

I keep the same settings in scan.  Scan-Ignore Serial Number.  I will fool around with this some more.

I always keep the same Volume Label.
