Re: new problem md5filechunk

How many *.tmp files are in your Temporary directory?

If you del *.tmp  -- does it work then?

Re: new problem md5filechunk

I think that would explain why I don't see the problem here.

Thanks for your help figuring this out!

Re: new problem md5filechunk

I've posted v0.637 as the beta test -- it fixes a minor problem with updating datalink.mdb, and better handles temporary files.

v0.637 beta-test releases available:
Full install:
web.newsguy.com/mccaffjt/beta/mp3boss.zip
web.newsguy.com/mccaffjt/beta/mp3.exe

Update install:
web.newsguy.com/mccaffjt/beta/mp3update.zip
web.newsguy.com/mccaffjt/beta/mp3update.exe

It looks like this will be the official release in a day or two...

Re: new problem md5filechunk

John

found this link http://forums.windowsitpro.com/web/foru … rticleLink

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr … 57112.aspx

that talks about

Maximum number of files and subfolders within a single folder
65,534 (The use of long file names can significantly reduce the number of available files and subfolders within a folder.)

i saw that you are going to delete the tmps at start up but what willl happen if scan is over 65534 should the deleting of files be at start of one of scan loops every 10000 files

Re: new problem md5filechunk

In theory, every temp file is deleted shortly after being created.  Certainly that is what happens for the MD5 files.

I'm not planning to delete files in Temp that weren't created by MP3-Boss -- so it is still possible to run out of space.  If that happens, MP3-Boss will now start writing the temp files to your mp3boss/temp directory -- and that way it will be possible to continue without problem even if the main temp is filled.

Re: new problem md5filechunk

Before you deleted those files -- were there a lot of temp files with a specific name, e.g.
~DH12345.tmp (this is normally what mp3-boss creates).

or

~MP12345.tmp

Or were they all different names?  Let me know the name format, and I can check if they were from MP3-Boss.

Re: new problem md5filechunk

Thanks for the information -- I'll have to check to see if I'm not cleaning up the temp files somewhere (it looks like they are deleted during the MD5 creation...but maybe somewhere else).

What version are you running?

I am making v0.637 the official release, since it fixes a few problems.
