cleanup folders

I have found after going through my music slowly and re-naming artists with spelling errors, etc that i now have a bunch of artist directories in my music folder that contain no files. (because i have moved the files to correct artist folder).   Would it be possible to add a feature that searches your folders and deletes any empty directories?

Re: cleanup folders

In theory...when Mp3-Boss deletes the last file from an mp3 directory, it will also delete the directory.  The reason it often doesn't do that is because there are some associated text or picture files that still remain.

I'm not so sure about what happens when you rename files ... but I think it will do the same thing.  Are you using List View when renaming?

It would actually be *VERY* easy for me to add a checkbox "auto-delete empty directories" to the scan function -- but of course then I'd also be deleting empty directories that don't have anything to do with audio files.  I'd also worry a bit about deleting empty directories across a network...

What do you think?

Re: cleanup folders

well can you make it do that in a directory you choose - eg d:/music  - so it only deletes the directories in there   I found when renaming them in list view, while watching artist cleanup screen that some artists changed to *deleted* whilst some just stayed while having no files

Re: cleanup folders

I could easily do that as a checkbox associated with "Scan selected directories".

Think that would be useful?

Re: cleanup folders

I haven't added this yet ... still a bit worried about where to put it so that it is obvious what it does.

I'd like your ideas...
