drive mapping

Hello,
How does drive mapping works?

I wrote in the new Volume (p:\) into newmap.
Volume label: extern 2
Serial number: 9A914456

After the update the information was deleted and p:\ is not registered.

Is this a problem if I have a mounted network storage?
But in Explorer it is shown as drive (extern 2)  p:\

Re: drive mapping

Mounted network storage should be no problem.

Drive maps should just let you change an old letter to a new letter.

Can you send me a screen capture of the Mp3-Boss drive mapping screen?

Has anyone else seen a problem with using Refresh Drive Mapping?

Re: drive mapping

Did you find something out?
I tried in on Xp, but it did not worked.

Wrote the mail
Drive P:\ is actually connected, I can use it with Windows Explorer.
I am able to select the original and current infos

I opened up an Explorer view of drive P:\ before opening Refresh Mapping.

Maybe I have to connect O:\ when I use drive mapping.
Maybe it is because i have older versions of mp3boss installed too.
In "Review Drive volume" volume P:\ is created but there is no drive letter next to Local

Re: drive mapping

I still haven't been able to reproduce the problem here.  Did you send me an additional file?

What happens when you click "Refresh" and "Show Current Info"?  Do you see the correct information for drive P: -- including volume label and serial number?  Does the NewMap drop-down menu give you the correct information for drive P: (click the drop-down arrow)?

Re: drive mapping

When I write down p:\ into the newmap column and select "show current info" I see:
Volume_Label: extern 2 (=correct)
Serial Number: 9A914456 (=seems to be correct too)
Comment: Local:
UNC:

When I click on refresh info, in the newmap column I get the info: "Unknown/New"
Volume_Label:
Serial Number: BC83FA17
Comment: Local (O:\):
UNC:

The NewMap drop down menu give me this information:
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/63a1-2-jpg.html
What is the correct information?
I canīt choose a drive from the drop down menu.

Original Info is:
Volume_Label: extern 1
Serial Number: E79ABF54
Comment: Local (O:\):
UNC: O:\

Re: drive mapping

Any idea when (or why) this problem started?  I still haven't been able to figure it out...

What operating system are you running on?

Have you tried Start/Programs/Mp3Boss "Optimize Data" and "Optimize Database"?

Please ZIP and send me all of your *.MD? files again.  What is strange is that the files you sent earlier look OK to me, but the picture you sent suggests that the files are corrupted -- since it looks like the fields are being mapped incorrectly.

I am running on vista, but i tried out on WinXP too, and it did not work.

I used "Optimize Data" and Optimize Database.

Re: drive mapping

Has anyone else seen a problem when selecting the NewMap drop-down?

What is unusual is that the individual screens seem to show the correct information, but the drop-down (created using that same information) is incorrect.

I haven't been able to see the problem on either WinXP or VISTA.
