Questions, comments and concerns about MP3-Boss: MP3 Database and Manager

Is it difficult to make a drag&drop for mp3files in list view, like in windows explorer.
I would like to send selected mp3files directly to a player like mediaplayer, virtualdj ....
One way you can do this now is to configure the right-click "SendTo" command (look on SendTo tab of Configuration). You simply add right-click menu commands to link directly to whatever programs you want.
Real Drag & Drop is harder to implement, although it is definitely a good idea.
I would prefer drag&drop, because virtual dj has 2 players and with drag&drop I can add the songs to the playlist or add direct to the players.
I've investigated drag&drop -- it is quite difficult to add -- I haven't been able to find any examples using Access with drag&drop where Access is the source (only where it is the destination).
If anyone finds any examples of drag&drop where Access is the drop source, please let me know.
I've continued to look into this.
So far I haven't figured out how to drag & drop from MP3-Boss into another program. If you can find out additional information on exactly what happens when you drag & drop from Explorer (API calls), I'll investigate.
However, it looks like drag & drop from the other direction (Explorer to MP3-Boss) is possible. This would make it possible to drag individual files (or directories) from Explorer into the MP3-Boss Scan dialog. What do you think -- should I try to implement this?
By the way, I installed the Virtual DJ demo for testing -- quite an interesting player, and it is definitely nice the way drag & drop works from Explorer. I wish I could have figured out how to support drag & drop from MP3-Boss! I couldn't find any command-line interface that would allow right-click menu support from Mp3-Boss for the two decks.
I tried to write virtual dj support, but I havenīt got a answer.
So I will write them once again, and again ..
Drag&rop from Explorer to MP3-boss?
I think the mp3 scanner tool is a good tool and for me itīs not necessary to implent this.
But I donīt know, maybe an other User woukd prefer drag&drop to mp3-boss.
Right after I wrote this, I did a last search to see if any solutions are out there.
For approximately $150, I can purchase an ActiveX control that would allow Drag & Drop (both ways). The library would also make it easier to just browse to select/deselect which directories to ignore.
I'm definitely considering it...
Feel free to post a few positive comments about MP3-Boss at some sites so I can pay for it!
Ok, I searchd in Google for Mp3 boss and postet in German to the first results like zdnet, ivertech, brothersoft, CNET, Tucows, and so on.
Drag&Drop, maybe maybe .... . . .

It looks like I can add a hotspot in ListView for the currently selected file -- that would let you drag & drop that file anywhere you want.
Would that be a good first step?
I don't think it will be possible to add a direct drag from ListView, but I should be able to have 'drag all selected'.
Also, I should be able to have 'drag from Explorer into Scan' to build up the list of files to be scanned.
Finally, I should be able to create a new form to populate the 'do not scan these directories' list -- much easier than typing.

In addition to the drag & drop -- I'm working on getting some graphics in List View (see below). The song-file "Muddy Water - Down on Stov.." can be dragged & dropped into any application. The graphic can be double-clicked (to bring it up normal size in the default application), or right-clicked to bring up the shell menu. It can also be dragged & dropped.
Right now, I'm getting the graphics from any JPG files that are in the same directory as the file (not the embedded graphic). This works great if you have both a "Front.JPG" and "Back.JPG" -- since the graphics list is scrollable. I haven't decided what I should do about embedded graphics (which you can already see from the detail view).
One question -- do you need to select multiple files at once for drag & drop -- or just a single file at a time?
Just a single file a time, to put it on deck 1, 2 or for a preview.
If you implent selecting multiple files at a time, I would use it for select and drop into the playlist field.
Firefox and other Mozilla applications support a number of features for handling drag and drop. This allows the user to click and hold the mouse button down over an element, drag it to another location, and release the mouse button to drop the element there. A translucent representation of what is being dragged will follow the mouse pointer during the drag operation. The drop location may be a different application.
