Deleting Files (Selected)

Anyone have trouble deleting files from list view when you specify files by checking the Select box?   I selected 5 files but delete did not proceed.  And no message  was given.
I then made sure the Playlist was cleared  But still the same result.

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

Ralph,

Is this the latest v0.669 release?  I found a problem in the earlier release that would often cause Delete/Selected to fail.

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

hmmmm....actually no.  I'm on .667.  Just a few days ago I started MP3Boss.  A screen popped up asking if I wanted to update.  I answered yes, assuming I was going to the latest version.  I guess not.  So.....let me get upgraded and then I'll see if the problem is fixed.

Thanks

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

I'll check that update is correctly updating...maybe somehow you got the files in transition.

I checked this out (updating v0.668 to v0.669) -- and you are absolutely correct.

The update is based on how fast the running copy of MP3-Boss shuts down, so in many cases the file will download and unpack ... but then exit because the running copy of Mp3-Boss hasn't exited yet.

If you run iBoss.bat in your temp directory (after MP3-Boss is shut down), that will update the program.  I'll see what I can do to get around this race condition.

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

I finally got .669 installed and the selected files delete worked perfectly.

I tried once again to get a manual update.  The lower info bar said that a .ZIP file was being downloaded but I could never find that file.  What directory was it supposed to be sent to.  I looked for the .bat file you mentioned, but could not find it.  my C:\TEMP is empty.

I'll let you know if something comes up with .669

Thanks

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

I'm pretty sure I've fixed the auto-update problem with v0.670 (not released).

There were a couple of problems with the batch file that was being created, plus the batch wasn't waiting until mp3-boss closed before trying to run.  Finally, I want to make the update intelligent enough that it doesn't ask questions that aren't needed.

The important file that got downloaded was mp3.exe ... the same program that runs during a normal update.

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

Now using .669.   I deleted files using selected mode.  Twice now I have subsequently had problems with queing more tracks to Winamp afterwards.  Also have problem clearing playlist currently loaded.  I think shutting down MP3 Boss and restart fixes  this.  I'll try to structure some kind of control test...but maybe you know about this already?

I'll try to send you screenshots.

Re: Deleting Files (Selected)

Screenshots would be great, as would a pattern that lets me reproduce the problem.

Do you think you deleted files that were in the playlist?
