date

Is it possible to sort the files in listview by "month.year"?

Example:
I only can look up for files in the year 2009 but not for October 2009.

Re: date

Where do you have a month.year date?  In the Year column?
There is a Release date in the ID3v2a page of Detail (and you can sort on that as long as you first click the "Full/Sortable" radio button at the top of that page.

Re: date

Do a lot of your songs have the release date?  What format (e.g., month/year or month/day/year)?  Where do you get the release date information?

Re: date

None of my songs have a release date. I would like to fill out this in future.
I would prefer the format month/year.
I only have the release information for new songs.

Re: date

John,

Two additional date fields would enhance  cataloging capabilities.  These are "Release Date" and "Recording Date".  An additional associated field would be "Record Label" or just "Label" to indicate the company or Music Group which produced the release.  I would prefer the date to be in a yyyy mm format in order to facilitating sorting and searching.

    Thanks,

    Hasso

Re: date

There is a release date and recording date in the ID3v2a page.  Take a look at the DETAIL information -- just about everything is there.

What isn't as easy is moving that information into List View...but it is certainly possible.

Re: date

For me it would be senseful to see the releasedate in listview.

Re: date

John,

I request that these dates be moved into the nice to have future enhancement category list.

Re: date

Other than release date (Detail/ID3va tab), which rarely seems to be populated, what are you trying to sort on?

I know that sometimes the year field isn't a 4-digit year, but instead another format (it can hold yyyy-mm).  As long as this is a consistent format, you could sort on that column.

Is it easy to find the release date information online?
