Is there a certain number it will find in one run, I run it then close out but when I run it it again it comes up with more? Thanks
The duplicate file finder assumes that a file will match only 1 other file, although I need to check -- it may be that this is a limitation of the way the results are reported, and not because of the way the files are checked. If you have 4 duplicate files -- you will get 2 matches of 2 duplicates. If you have 5 duplicates, you get 2 duplicates of 2 and a non-duplicate extra. If you have tons of truly identical files, then it makes sense to run the duplicate finder a few times so that it finds all of the multiple duplicates.
When I delete duplicates are they automatically removed from the list view or must I use cleanup to do it? Thanks
I feel that I need to rescan my drive because all songs are not showing in the list, is there any other option to refresh the list because it took 2 days last time to scan the 500GB. Thanks
Duplicates should be automatically removed from List View (although you might find some marked "#DELETED#" -- this will be refreshed after a period or time (e.g., 30seconds), or can be refreshed immediately by closing and reopening List View.
What are you seeing that isn't refreshed?
As long as you do a "NEW FILES ONLY" scan -- the scanning will just pickup new files to scan (and it should be very fast). Finding files to scan is fast -- the scanning process is what takes time (up to ~30s per file if it is an untagged file that needs to be scanned with MusicIP and a PUID doesn't already exist).
