Dryer venting system

ATLANTA, GA -- A new concept in dryer venting has been introduced by Exhausto Inc. The Mechanical Dryer Venting System (MDVS) optimizes the airflow though the dryer and in the dryer duct for faster drying and less lint build up in the duct. It automatically varies the airflow in the duct system based on the amount of exhaust from the dryers by maintaining a constant operating pressure in the duct.

The system consists of a pressure controller and a box ventilator that can be installed inside or outside. It has an integrated safety system that stops dryer operation in the event of any failure that prevents proper operation.

The system also eliminates the need for installing individual cuts for each dryer in a system. The ducts can be combined using common venting which saves on installation and the cost of materials. This also means that smaller duct sizes can be used and new design solutions are possible.

The product is ETL listed and approved for use with commercial dryers. Exhausto, founded in 1957, is a manufacturer and distributor of power ventilators and other air moving products for residential and commercial markets.

Internet search engine for services

NEW YORK, NY -- Click4Services.com is a new Internet search engine that helps consumers locate, evaluate and schedule service with neighborhood service businesses.

Consumers can use Click4Services.com's one-click method to locate a service business in their area without sorting through irrelevant links or stale information. The consumer enters a zip code at a Click4Services.com web site to obtain search results that include the business's affiliations, guarantees, experience and service hours. Consumers can also request references, print discount coupons and learn about experiences other consumers had with the firm, as well as add their own opinions.

Click4Services.com attempts to overcome major hurdles facing small businesses that want to market services on the Internet -- attracting customers from within the local trading area; making the business stand out from among thousands of similar ones in on-line search engines and directories; and the cost of establishing an effective internet presence.

The company plans to launch a multi-million dollar advertising campaign this spring. In the meantime, it is giving free listings to the first 10,000 service businesses that apply and qualify.

Label printer

SYRACUSE, NY -- The Thermopatch Y140A has been upgraded to support the RS232 communication serial port on the back of the machine which allows for sending label information to be printed from a computer via the port.

The Y140A requires software version 11/11/99 to install this enhancement. No other changes are needed.

The Y140A prints, cuts and seals identification labels temporarily to garments for tracking through the laundering or drycleaning process. Labels can be removed after processing, leaving no residue on the garments. The Y140A automatically adjusts print character sizes based on the length of the data string being received.

The upgrade does not affect the normal operation of the system even when connected to the external input computer. The operator can either manually enter data with the Y140A keyboard as normal or input data from the computer. Since the data is entered or received, the sealing operation is performed as normal.

Drain heat recovery

YORK, PA -- Doucette Industries Inc. has a drainwater heat exchanger that it says recovers up to 85 percent of the normally wasted energy from previously heated gray water.

The GFX drainwater heat exchanger captures the drainwater energy to preheat cold water before it enters a water heater. Because it improves a water heater's recovery rate, it can eliminate the need for purchasing a larger water heater.

The GFX unit fits into a drainwater system to conduct waste water heat from a variety of resources including sinks, dishwashers, showers and industrial processes. It installs into any plumbing system in place of an existing vertical section of drain pipe. It has no moving parts or heating elements and is self-cleaning in design.
