COLD SPRING, KY -- Stamford Chemical division of Fabritec International has developed a new pre-spotter for high-flash petroleum solvents such as Exxon DF2000. The product, Prespot HC, is used at full strength, so it requires no mixing. Stamford said that Prespot HC is safe and effective in removing most oily and water soluble stains and that is safe on all types of fabrics and is self-leveling. The product's solvent base is a high-flash petroleum solvent, which eliminates the possibility of the flash point of the cleaning bath being lowered by contamination.

The unmanned Magic Wardrobe AVM lets customers drop off and pick up their laundry and dry cleaning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and serves as an environmentally friendly satellite of a large, central cleaning plant where the actual cleaning takes place. The AVM has a US patent, is manufactured in Canada and works much like an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). The AVM is activated by the customer's credit card, so no cash is involved, and is contained in a secure enclosed rectangle space of approximately 100 square feet.

WESTPORT, MA -- Hoyt has introduced new technology utilizing the internet as a monitoring device on its Hoyt Sentinel Series drycleaning machines. The new technology, available on Hoyt's HMS3 Hydrocarbon dry-to-dry machines, was developed by Hoyt in cooperation with Rockwell Automation. The interface and control system incorporates Allen-Bradley touchscreen controls with intuitive programming procedures, automatic on-screen operation prompts, troubleshooting help screen and automatic preventive maintenance reminders -- all with the option of a manual override.
The Sentinel series also uses a new software package called FactorySync, which establishes a direct link from the host machine to the Hoyt factory over the Internet, makes possible remote operation, monitoring, diagnostic testing and even repair over existing phone lines.
The Hoyt HM3 Sentinel Series has received an MEA approval number from New York City.

LAKEWOOD, CO -- A line of lightweight, compact, pickup filters are now available from Industrial Specialities Manufacturing Inc. The filters are made of polypropylene with 74, 149 or 177 micron screens. Male or female threads or luer quick releases for removing and cleaning are available and 3/16" or 1/4" I.D. tubing can be adapted. Mounted on the end of the tubing, the filter protect mechanisms while cleaning fluid is drawn thought the tubing. Check valves can be added to operate as a foot valve. The offsetting feet in the filter assure that liquid passage can't be blocked.
