HAPEVILLE, GA -- Union's new HL/GH-800 Series drycleaning systems have received "Sixth Generation" approval from Jim Douglas, the technical director of GreenEarth Cleaning Systems.
Union was the first manufacturer to design a system specifically for GreenEarth solvent.
Union said its new HL/GH-800 series features a patented, new Hybrid Charge system with Sensor Plus that improves on the previous fractional distillation concept and nearly eliminates solvent boil-over inside the still.
Other features include a new drying chamber with better airflow, refrigerated solvent cooling, automatic drying control, Dialog microprocessor, inverter-controlled wash/extract cycle, advanced systems and a "split" refrigeration system designed for easier and faster maintenance.
The new Ideal Tunnel Drying System (ITDS) speeds drying time so per-hour production time can be increased.
A self-cleaning button trap and a spring-mount basket suspension design for high speed 800 rpm extract are available as options.
Union said the new HL/GH-800 series is fully compatible for use with either Class III A hydrocarbon solvents, silicone fluids or GreenEarth solvents. All machines are ETL-listed and meet or exceed governmental operating requirements, the company said.
Models are available in 40-, 45-, 60-, 70-, and 90-lb. load capacities.

ARLINGTON, VA -- The Uniform and Textile Service association has published "Inside Textile Service 2000-2001," the association's first comprehensive guide of U.S. textile service companies.
The publication not only includes data for UTSA's membership, but also for hundreds of textile service companies that are not members of the association
The directory lists all UTSA affiliated suppliers with catalog-like data on their products and services.
UTSA undertook the task for creating the guide because it believes that members can benefit from networking with everyone in the industry, regardless of a company's affiliation.
The listings were verified through hundreds of phone calls and cross-checking with secondary sources to ensure accuracy.
UTSA is a trade association that represents uniform and textile service companies. Its members operate more than 1,100 processing and depot facilities in the United States from which they supply and service textile products to commercial and industrial customers. UTSA membership accounts for more than 90 percent of the textile service market.
The UTSA guide won first place in the directory competition sponsored by Associations Trends, a trade newspaper for associations.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- R. R. Street & Co. Inc., through an exclusive agreement with ExxonMobil Chemical, has begun to supply the drycleaning industry with DF-2000 fluid through its U.S. network of supply distributors. Street's said the new arrangement was formed in response to growing demand for DF-2000 Fluid and the need for an alternative cleaning technology package.
Previously, DF-2000 was distributed through ExxonMobil's network of fuel and oil distributors. Now it will be easier for users to obtain it from their traditional supply distributors, Street's said, adding that its involvement will also provide users with new process design and additives expertise to help achieve reliable cleaning performance.
DF-2000 will also be available in more package sizes, Street's said.

SHREWSBURY, MA -- A new line of corrugated plastic boxes that set up quickly, are unaffected by humidity or water, store flat and can be reused many times has been introduced by Technology Container Corp.
