WILLOWBROOK, IL -- The Golomb Group has developed "Easy Money," a new program to keep customers, even "first-timers," coming back. Most lost customers are due to quits, because they believe all cleaners are alike. To stand out, a cleaner needs something unique and, with all other factors being equal, the edge is to have something extra in place: an internal, on-going promotion.
The Easy Money program keeps big customers happy because they realize they are being rewarded for their loyalty and patronage. The program also aims to get customers who split their work among more than one cleaner to give all of their business to the same cleaner. And it works to build both volume and profits.
The package consists of 1,000 colorful, re-usable cards and a full-color counter display that explains the program to the drycleaner's customers.

SYRACUSE, NY -- Thermopatch Corp. has developed a new product line for labeling and/or bar coding garments for the laundry, drycleaning and related industries. The HiQ system includes equipment to print and apply a new type of thermal transfer tape that meets Thermopatch standards for ink retention, adhesion and overall durability.
Equipment in the new line includes the Y940 HiQ Thermopatch Labeling Machine to print, cut and seal identification labels into the garment in one operation for high volume plant.
Lower volume plants can use the S41 HiQ Thermal Transfer Printer to high-speed labeling printing. The S41 can be used to either print and cut labels or to print on perforated label tapes that are then separated and sealed into the garment on a standard heat seal machine.
Both systems use Thermopatch's new HiQ Thermal Transfer Tapes. The tape has a wash-fast surface that is compatible with the company's new HiQ Thermal Transfer Inks.

WESTLAND, MI -- Hamilton Engineering has announced a price decrease in its highest efficiency water heating line, the V-Tube. The company claims heating fuel savings of up to 40 percent for the V-tube line in replacement situations.
The V-tubes range in size from 150,000 to 2,070,000 BTUs. They use direct venting, stage firing and pressurized combustion, all designed to increase overall efficiency.
Hamilton says the direct venting feature eliminates open holes in outside walls for combustion and ventilation air, which means warm air won't escape during winter months.
Stage firing allows maximum burn times and BTU load matching to maximize fuel efficiency.
The pressurized fan-assisted combustion eliminates stand-by heat loss through the exhaust duct, which also helps save fuel.

TULSA, OK -- Royal Shield from Royaltone is a specially formulated stain repellent for suedes, leathers and cloth combination items That lets cleaners offer a profitable extra service to customers when they bring in their suede or leather for cleaning.
