TAMPA, FL -- Seitz Inc. has launched a new pre-spotter for drycleaners that combines several traditional functions in one bottle.
Seitz Polyspot SL is supplied in a "squeezee" bottle and can be applied directly to the fabric without a brush. Because it contains no chlorinated solvents, the product can also be safely sprayed without irritating the skin or eyes. Suitable for use with perchloroethylene, Polyspot SL is effective for treating wet- and grease-bound stains on white or colored fabrics. The product does not affect the stability of dyestuff and rinses out well.
The Polyspot KWV variant has been designed for use in petroleum/hydrocarbon.
Used regularly on tenaciously greasy areas such as collars, cuffs, turnups, sleeve linings and pockets, Polyspot can reduce the need for specialized spotting chemicals and accelerate production.

FISHERS, IN -- CoolSpace has introduced its all new portable evaporative cooler, available with a 36-inch fan in a single- and three-speed model.
The new aerodynamic design of the CoolSpace increases air flow, provides better cooling power and operates quieter. Eight-inch cooling pads increase the temperature drop over the traditional six-inch pads.
The commercial grade, heavy duty corrosion-free polyethylene housing is 50 percent heavier than previous models. Electrical terminals and connections are encased in water-tight enclosures. The high efficiency evaporative pads and specially designed housing allow air temperature reduction of up to 26° F even under high relative humidity conditions.
The unit operates on a 115-volt electrical supply and a garden hose for water supply.
A portable water tank is available for applications where a main water supply is not available.

WOODBURY, NY -- Rynex Holdings, Ltd. has developed three new biodegradable and nontoxic spotting agents. These spotting agents were developed because of to the so-called "mixture" and "contained-in" provisions of 40 CFR 261.3(b)(2) and (d)(2) under which even a small amount of many existing spotting agents could cause the waste from a Rynex system to become hazardous.
Using its knowledge of propylene glycol ethers and expanding on its biodegradable nontoxic solvent, Rynex Holdings created three nonhazardous spotting agents. Although designed for use with the Rynex solvent, they can be used with any solvent, including water.
Rynex Spotex is a multipurpose spotter that can remove blood, grease, grime, beverages and more. Spotex's water based formula is nontoxic, nonflammable and contains no solvents or hazardous ingredients. Its neutral pH allows stain removal from a variety of fibers and fabrics.
Rynex Citrex Gel is a wet/dry spotter that removes grease, oil, tar, cosmetics, crayons and more. It contains a glycol ether blend and is nontoxic, non-corrosive, nonflammable and biodegradable. Citrex Gel has a neutral pH and is safe for most fibers and fabrics.
Rynex D-Solvex is a paint, oil and grease remover that eliminates the need for volatile and non-volatile dry solvent spotters. D-Solvex, a glycol ether blend, was specially formulated to eliminate sticky, tacky residues and safely dissolves decals, crayons, oil, grease, ink and cosmetics. It is 100 percent active, contains no water, is nontoxic, biodegradable and has a neutral pH.
All three spotting agents come in a 16-ounce bottle with drip-top applicator.

TULSA, OK -- Royaltone Co. has announced Stif-N spray sizing for suedes and leathers, a liquid sizing spray for retexturizing suede and leather garments that is a solvent resistant and restores firmness and body to weak or limp panels, drooping lapels and wrinkled area due to loss of sizing.
Stif-N Leather Sizing is used full strength at 80 pounds of air pressure using a spray gun to the underside of limp or drooping suede or leather panels. After air drying, the garment is pressed in the usual manner for a wrinkle free, finished look.
Stif-N Leather Spray Sizing comes in quarts, four-quart cases and 12-quart cases.

WARSAW, IN -- A new series of compact boiler feed systems has been introduced by Bryan Steam LLC. The systems require a minimal amount of boiler room space while providing the same features as stand-mounted systems.
The systems are available in simplex and duplex pump configurations in capacities from 20 to 80 boiler HP for 15 through 150 PSI boilers. All are designed to fit through a 36-inch doorway; the maximum height of the largest model is 44 inches. The atmospheric tanks, in sizes ranging from 20 to 80 gallons, are built from heavy 1/4-inch minimum steel thickness.
Installation is simplified through factory "packaging." Top-mounted pumps with TEFC motors make maintenance and replacement easier.
All systems include pump discharge pressure gauges and tank thermometer as standard. Optional electrical accessories are available.

Khaki Klean, which contains optical brighteners and is biodegradable, can remove stains while leaving a soft fell. COLD SPRING, KY -- The Stamford Chemical Division of Fabritec International has a two-product system to control offensive odors in perchloroethylene drycleaning solvents.
Stamford's solvent conditioners and neutralizer, S.C.A.N., is added to the water separator at an average of three ounces per eight-hour shift. S.C.A.N. will neutralize any types of odors and any acid that is present in the systems. Stamford Odex is added to the solvent at a rate of two ounces per 100 gallons of solvent twice weekly. Odex is a scavenger for odors from smoke, perspiration, urine and pets.
