How-to manual on wetcleaning
Dan Eisen has published a new wetcleaning manual that covers up-to-date procedures and chemicals necessary for wetcleaning using home washing machines, pails or sophisticated wetcleaning equipment.
A section on fibers and fabrics gives the cleaners the knowledge and insight in understanding how different chemicals must be used to insure the safety of the garment. The bleaching section explains how to use wetcleaning for restoration and profit.
Eisen, former chief garment analyst for the Neighborhood Cleaners Association, bases his  knowledge on 33 years of doing garment analysis, teaching wetcleaning and restoring fabrics for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
He said Laidlaw, Stamford Chemical and R. R. Street have expressed interest in offering technical assistance and free samples that can be used in conjunction with his manual.

Window poster advertising campaign

NEW YORK, NY — The Neighborhood Cleaners Association has released several window posters which it says can be more effective than print advertising.
The association noted that the store windows of its 4,000 members offer prime space for displaying the messages. In a market test involving several dozen cleaners, NCA determined that the posters were not only less expensive than print advertising but also more effective in generating traffic. A series of three posters have been designed to launch the window ad campaign.
NCA said it is beginning a new program that will use its members’ store windows as an advertising venue for products and services related to garment care. The association is negotiating with a major women’s clothing manufacturer that will promote the manufacturer’s garments as serviceable and durable. The manufacturers will pay for the posters and also pay drycleaners a rental fee for use of the windows.

WET TECH2832.jpg
Ozone generator
WORCESTER, MA — Wet-Tech has developed a modular ozone generator system for heavy soil in laundry where there is a need for higher volumes of ozone at lower concentrations to remove soil without damaging fabric with direct ozone applications.
The modular, long cell system can produce more than one pound of ozone per day within four industrial units so that each application is controlled.
Each cell is controlled with its own transformer working from a signal from the wash formula. The cells are stainless steel electrodes with borosilicate glass dielectric.
The EnviroSaver II ozone cabinet is powdered painted steel, 20" wide by 40" high by 10" deep.
