DEP seminars planned by PDCA
The Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners
Association will be continuing to offer several informative
meetings in the next few months that focus on plant inspections
by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
The meetings give cleaners a chance to
meet with regulators and other experts who can help them avoid
problems during inspections.
The series will cover several topics,
including: what DEP inspectors are discovering in plant
inspections; the biggest mistakes cleaners make; and what
lessons can be learned from the inspection process.
Attendees can also expect answers to the
following questions:
How does anyone get funding for new
equipment?
What’s coming next?
What’s this about problem
permits?
So far Pennsylvania DEP meetings are
scheduled for the following dates and locations in Pennsylvania:
March 6 at Gramercy Restaurant in Wilkes Barre;
March 14 at the Community College of Allegheny Country in
Pittsburgh; March 21 at Leeds Restaurant in Harrisburg; April 1
at Gus’s Crossroads in Allentown; and April 10 at the
Marriott West in Philadelphia.
The program is free to the public.
Also coming up in the near future, PDCA
will be hosting an IFI Stain Removal Class on May 18 at Joseph
Krow Suede and Leather in North Huntingdon, PA. IFI Garment
Analyst Chris Allsbrooks will be the guest speaker.
Further down the road, PDCA will present a
Customer Service/Problem Garment seminar with IFI in
Philadelphia on Oct. 19.
Three PDCA Board of Director meetings have
already been planned, as well. They will be in Harrisburg on
May 5, Pittsburgh on July 28, and in Harrisburg again on Dec.
8.
PDCA Expo 2002 plans
The association’s Drycleaning and
Laundry Expo 2002 is already scheduled to take place on the
weekend of Sept. 21 and 22, at the Atlantic City Convention
Center located in Atlantic City, NJ.
PDCA will be hoping to duplicate the
success of its Expo 2000, which featured over 325 exhibit
booths and more than 2,800 attendees who represented over 1,600
plants.
This year, the exhibit hall’s
schedule will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21,
and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.
