PORT ST. LUCIE, FL — “The Art of Wetcleaning” is a new
book published by Dan
Eisen that provides
technical guidance on wetcleaning procedures for a variety of
fabric types in a 171-page looseleaf ring-binder format.
The book begins with chapters on
wetcleaning chemicals and handling various types of stains. A
section on general wetcleaning safety precedes chapters on how
to deal with a variety of fabrics including acetate, crepe,
rayon, spandex, velvet and wool.
Other chapters tell how to deal with
shrinkage problems and how to handle suedes and leathers.
Eisen is the former chief garment analyst
of the Neighborhood Cleaner Association and the author of
“The Spotting Board” column in National
Clothesline.

RIPON, WI — UniMac has
introduced a space-saving, high efficiency front-load washer
and dryer pair. The two units have been designed to work in
harmony so that a load of laundry takes the same time to
complete in the washer as in the dryer. The forward location of
the control allows the tops of the units to be used for storage
or work space.
The front-load, high-efficiency washer
uses 19 gallons of water for a full load of towels, compared to
38 gallons used by top-load machines.
The companion dryer has 7 cu. ft. cylinder
capacity.
