NCA plans educational seminars in New
Jersey
The Neighborhood Cleaners Association will be offering four upcoming educational
seminars later this year throughout New Jersey.
Starting on Sunday, May 5, the association
will host a wetcleaning seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at
U.S. Cleaners, located at 463 Bloomfield Ave. in Caldwell, NJ.
The class, which will be taught by instructor Ann Hargrove,
costs $150 for members and $195 for non-members. For more

The remaining three seminars will all take
place at the Ramada Inn at 375 Passaic St. in Rochelle Park,
NJ.
On Tuesday, May 14, NCA will present
“Pricing For Profit” free to its members.
Non-members must pay $75. The two-hour seminar starts at 8
p.m.; registration begins at 7:30 p.m.
Also slated to take place is a marketing
seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 8 to 10 p.m., also free
to all members. Non-members must pay $75.
Instructor Alan Spielvogel will round out
the educational offerings with “Problem Garments,”
presented on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m.
The program costs $75 for non-members, but is free to all NCA

IFI stain removal seminar in Pensylvania
A stain removal training course hosted by
the International Fabricare Institute will be held from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, in N. Huntingdon, PA. It will be
hosted at Green Valley Cleaners, located at 11055 Parker Dr.
The focus of the session will be how to
reduce the potential for fabric damage and increase customer
satisfaction through stain removal techniques.
IFI instructors will be on hand to offer
live demonstrations and discuss fabric characteristics, stain
removal agents and procedures, rings and watermarks, bleaches,
and other topics.
Cost for the seminar is $99 for the first
member cleaner and $89 for each additional one. Non-members pay
$129.

Equipment, spotting demos on tap for
Phila. trade fair
Live demonstrations of the latest
technology in drycleaning equipment will be featured at a trade
fair sponsored by Blue Ribbon Equipment in Philadelphia, PA,
May 18-19.
Carl Gardner of the Laidlaw Corp. will be
on hand for free spotting demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
and attendees will be able to see the newest technology in
plant installations, including pressing and cleaning equipment,
in action. Ajax, Böwe Permac, Columbia Drycleaning
Machines, Forenta, Unipress, White Conveyor, Fulton, Veit,
Kleen-Rite, Sankosha, R. J. Papalini, NATCO and Columbia Boiler
are among the companies that will have their products
exhibited.
