FabriCare Foundation seeks donors to support customer attitude survey
To pave the way for the industry’s future, the FabriCare Foundation is seeking information today. The organization is asking for donations to help fund the commissioning of the 2002 FabriCare Industry Customer Attitude Survey, a resource that could help drycleaners prepare, retool, expand or maintain their businesses.
Chris Edwards, one of the foundation’s directors and owner of A Cleaner World in High Point, NC, has completed a focus group and an Internet survey and is directing a telephone survey. The project is expected to cost about $60,000.
“This is definitely a worthwhile effort since the last survey was done by the International Fabricare Institute eight years ago,” said Bob Shirley, owner of City Laundry and Cleaners of Las Vegas, NV, and president of FabriCare Foundation. “I would be glad to talk to all industry professionals about sponsorship of this project so that we can continue the mission of the Foundation to lead the growth and future of our industry and its professionals through research and education.”
So far the Foundation has received support from the industry’s allied trades with $15,000 in pledges and other donations. The foundation’s directors’ goal is $500,000 in pledges and $100,000 in contributions by July, 2002. Donors of $5,000 or more will receive a full report and executive summary from the 2002 Customer Attitude Survey.
In addition to the survey, the foundation wants to fund research for the industry, provide financial resources to create and support education course work and scholarships, and raise funds to support these and future programs.
