Kaplan named to EPA advisory committee
Dale Kaplan of Kaplan’s Careful Cleaners in Camp Hill, PA, was recently appointed to the Compliance Assistance Advisory Committee (CAAC), a subcommittee of the EPA’s National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology (NACEPT).
His term begins immediately and will run through May of 2004.
The purpose behind CAAC is to form a multi-stakeholder group that will offer advice to EPA’s NACEPT on the design and implementation of various compliance assistance projects.
In addition to developing and testing performance measurement systems that figure the effectiveness and environmental outcomes of compliance assistance, the group will act as a sounding board to provide feedback, determine the agenda for EPA’s third annual Compliance Assistance Forum, and promote other collaborations that will also help to strengthen the the Agency’s national compliance assistance network.
Kaplan, who serves as the vice president of government relations for the Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association, hopes to better serve the subcommittee by seeking concerns from drycleaners on the subject of environmental compliance.
Kaplan encourages cleaners to contact him with concerns and issues that would be of interest to the council. He can be reached by phone at (717) 737-0572 or e-mail at kaplans1@aol.com.
