New line of perc machines
OWINGS MILLS, MD — AMA Universal has released its new line of Class IV,
Generation 5, AMA PRO drycleaning machines designed for use
with perchloroethylene solvent.
All AMA PRO models have features that meet
regulatory and landlord compliance requirements.
Machine models are available in a wide
range of loading capacities; 30-, 35-, 40-, 45-, 50-, 55-, 65-,
75-, 80-, 105 and industrial models up to 160 lbs.
Slim Line two-tank and Standard three-tank
model configurations with built-in secondary vapor controls,
automatic still clean-out system and double spin disc filters
allow for an easy fit into any location.
The AMA PRO models are equipped with a
Master Flash computer and a true, independent manual override
control system. For added safety and convenience, in case of a
computer malfunction, a machine operator may perform all
machine functions by push-button, manual control. Easy-open
housing panels allow for fast access to machine components to
make operator maintenance chores easier.
All models are equipped with heat pumps
that use distillation vapors to back up the primary heat pump,
resulting in minimal energy consumption with electrical
heating. The air flow channel and solvent recovery housing
incorporates the button trap and lint filters the drying
process. Solvent consumption is minimal.
Injection detergent
WAYNE, NJ — Caled Chemical has developed Hydroclene Injection Detergent,
which is specifically designed for hydrocarbon solvents and the
“new technology” hydrocarbon drycleaning machines
Caled said the product provides excellent
cleaning and brightness of whites and colors and reduces the
need for pre-spotting, especially for wet-side stains.
Hydroclene Injection Detergent is sold in
five-gallon pails, and 20-gallon and 55-gallon drums.
MAMARONECK, NY — Trevil America, the North American distributor for Trevil
products, has announced design improvements in the model 5100
Treviform tensioning form finisher.
The model 5100 Treviform has been designed
to offer flexibility to any size drycleaning facility. The
machine features an automatic photocell, which guides the
movement of the form to select the proper position for every
garment. The form telescopes up and down to allow for finishing
of jackets, dresses, overcoats, and golf shirts.
During the machine’s cycle,
pneumatic clamps automatically close in the front and back of
the garment. Side expanders come out to shape the sides of the
garment. Once the steam cycle begins, the form moves up
slightly to hold the garment under tension, creating a high
quality finish.
An electronic control panel allows for 10
different programs of steam, steam/air mix, and hot air blowing
time. Exclusion buttons allow one-touch elimination of the
clamps, side expanders, and vertical tensioning, easing the
finish of specialty garments.
New features include an electronic voltage
regulator that prevents problems caused by voltage surges and
drops. All switching inside the machine is done in low
voltage (24V or 5V), except for the motor.
A narrow all-steam iron is included as to
allow minor touch-ups directly on the form.
CO2 machine certification
BURNSVILLE, MN — Cool Clean Technologies, Inc. announced that it has successfully obtained
Materials, Equipment, and Acceptance (MEA) certification for
its CO2 drycleaning machine.
An MEA number is required as part of the
New York City building code on certain equipment and appliances
that become a permanent part of a building. Manufacturers
must adhere to rigorous electrical and mechanical standards to
obtain the number. For example, drycleaning machines must
conform to Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Standard 664 as
certified by an independent testing agency.
Obtaining the number will allow Cool Clean
to move forward to with several installations underway in
New York City.
Cool Clean drycleaning machines use
pressurized liquid CO2 as a cleaning solvent. The CO2 machine
operates much like a traditional front-loading drycleaning
machine with a range of wash and extract cycles but without
heat to set stains and wrinkles. The solvent is natural
and odor free and 98 percent of the CO2 is recovered and
reused at the end of the 35- to 40-minute cycle.

motor via a maintenance-free coupling. The cooling air flow
designed significantly reduces noise levels and provides
superior cooling.

high-efficiency separator system for low oil carry-over
NAPERVILLE, IL — R. R. Street & Co. Inc. has introduced Finishing Touch aerosol
sizing for drycleaners. Finishing Touch has been formulated to

easy to use without clogging, sticking, flaking or drips and
with less wasted product. Finishing touch can be purchased
through Street’s distributors in 20-oz. containers or
packages in cartons of 10.
Productivity measurement
DENVER, NC — Leonard Automatics has introduced the Pacer Production Management
System, a real-time monitoring, reporting, and training system.
The system helps to increase operator
productivity, train new operators, and collect production data.
Two Pacer packages are available. The
regular Pacer unit includes indicator lights and production
settings for each station. When the operator is below the
expected performance rate, the indicator light is off. When the
operator is within 90 to 95 percent of expected performance
rate, the indicator light flashes. When the operator achieves
the set production rate, the light stays illuminated.
In training new employees, begin with a
lower rate and increase the rate each day. Trainees will know
how they are performing at your expected pace.
Pacer Plus provides these functions along
with production reports that can be saved or exported to
spreadsheet programs. Manual counting is eliminated; simply hit
a button, and the results are provided. Production reports can
be customized to meet the plant’s requirements
Cleaning machines
MORRISTOWN, TN — Forenta has introduced its 2002 model drycleaning
machines. The company now offers two Ecological spin disc
filters and an “all carbon” cartridge filter to
meet the changing ecological requirements. Several sizes and
styles are available for quick delivery.
