NORTHVALE, NJ — Multimatic Corp. has issued new brochures for its SL Series perc drycleaning machines. The brochure features a rear view photo of the machine with call-outs for all of the major features.

The SL Series incorporates new features for easier operation and maintenance. For example, the back plate sight glass allows visual inspection of the drum to facilitate maintenance. The new spray down, which has also been added, helps prevent lint build-up on the back plate to keep the machine operating at maximum efficiency.

Visual inspection of the copper refrigeration coils can be made without opening the cover. This is made possible by another sight glass located on the top of the machine. When maintenance or coil replacement is necessary, the cover is easy to remove.

The Multi-Comp Microprocessor, which is the standard control on the SL Series machines, is described in the brochure. The control features a message center that shows the program in use and machine function in a choice of languages, including English, Korean, Spanish and other languages.

The new brochures are printed in both English and Korean.

NORWALK, CT —†Rema-Dri Vac Corp. now has its stainless steel boiler return systems available in capacities ranging from 8 to 50 gallons with other types offered for 1 to 500 gallon uses.

The system are available in both space-saving vertical standing and horizontally positioned units with 1/3 to 5 HP Burks pump. Tank capacities depend upon boiler HP.

Vertical unit tank sizes are 18" diameter by 24", 30", 42" and 48" respectively with single or three-phase motors at 1,750 rpm or 3,500 rpm. The horizontally positioned devices feature tanks sizes from 14" to 18" diameter with tank capacities from 16 to 50 gallons.

All types are produced with required floats, return tubes, shut-off and drain valves, strainers, cold water inlets, return couplings and vents with safety bars.

Rema also has 11 gauge steel boiler feed systems for 1 to 200 HP boilers with capacities to 500 gallons. Burks pumps to 45 HP are incorporated for both vertical and horizontal standing units. Extra rugged custom systems and replacement tanks in heavy-duty steel are also produced.

Rema also fabricates replacement return tanks for boiler return systems in addition to non-siphon air gap systems and “blow-down” separators.

DALLAS, TX — S-J-C Corp. has developed a nitrogen blanketing system that converts any perc dry-to-dry or transfer machine to one that uses Exxon DF-2000 solvent. S-J-C said its complete turn-key conversions are an alternative to perc systems and require little or no start-up time or monitoring to create a safe, clean, odorless petroleum system for a fraction of the cost of investment in new equipment.

S-J-C said its conversion system helps avoid the potential liability of continued perc use, including eliminating the possibility of extremely expensive clean-up, it also offers cleaning that is gentle to fabrics and dyes, with a low toxicity, virtually odorless system with drying times comparable to other solvents and excellent solvent life.

WORTHINGTON, OH — AARSYS is offering its new movable floor eAnytime Cleaner Service standard drop-off and pick-up combination kiosk for sites with restricted floor space. The kiosk measures 48" wide, 33" deep and 80" high and can house up to 30 orders (150 items) on individually locked hanging positions.

The kiosk can be placed in offices, apartment buildings, supermarkets and convenience stores or used in the cleaning store to provide customer convenience for drop off and pick up.

In addition to the standard kiosk, AARYS offers large and extra large capacity units.

GIG HARBOR, WA — Methods For Management, Inc., in cooperation with its existing client base as well as new members, has formed a specialized management bureau, referred to as the High End Niche Bureau. This bureau has membership from throughout the country and represents those drycleaners who have targeted the highest niche in the industry, frequently defined by high prices, but also perceived by their client base as the “best in the business.”

The 12 other MFM Management Bureaus are organized by size and geography. Bureaus organized with similar revenues and organizational types help to bring people together with similar experiences and issues. A tighter geographic area, without compromising any competitive issues, reduces travel costs and time as much as possible. Two additional Bureaus are specifically designed for production managers of these operations and addresses their unique issues.

LEESBURG, VA — Education training and support in wetcleaning is available from AquaTerra and its principal, Tammy Kernus, an IFI Certified Professional Wetcleaner.

Training can range from how to professionally wetclean problematic fabrics as a alternative to drycleaning them to establishing a full-scale wetcleaning operation.

AquaTerra training can include fabric identification and sorting; fabric response in water, determining water conditions; washroom chemistry and spotting procedures; accurate style and size of processing equipment; and production methods.

After initial training, AquaTerra will provide ongoing support with a variety of services, from guidance through arising issues to continuing education.

Training is available either on-site or at The Laundry Club, a wetcleaning facility in Leesburg, VA, that Kernus has operated since 1998.
