Dates set for TexCare ’03, other NCA programs
A new date and location has already been planned for TexCare ’03 by the Neighborhood Cleaners Association. The exhibition will take place on April 5 and 6 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, which is approximately three minutes away from the New York Giants’ stadium.
The exhibit hours will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Seminars will run from 8 to 10 a.m. both mornings.
Closer down the road, NCA will host several educational offerings throughout the month of September for cleaners in the Northeastern U.S.
On Sept. 10, a seminar on  “Diversification” will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn at 560 Main Ave. in Norwalk, CT. A “Pricing for Profit” seminar will be offered one week later at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Ramada Inn at 375 E. Passaic St. in Rochelle Park, NJ.
The Crown Plaza Hotel at 66 Hale Ave. in White Plains, NY, will host another “Pricing for Profit” seminar  at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18. The next day, NCA will host two seminars, including a “Pricing for Profit” session that begins at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at 215 Sunnyside Blvd. in Plainview, NY, and one on “Diversification” that starts at 7 p.m. at Finian’s Restaurant, located at 910 Washington Ave. in Dedham, MA.

NELA schedules program for Fall Conference Oct. 3-6
The Mount Washington Hotel & Resort will be this year’s site for the Northeast Laundry Association’s 90th Annual Meeting & Fall Conference, scheduled for Oct. 3-6.
Programming will begin on Friday morning when Christopher Benik, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Trainer, will help attendees unlock the full capabilities of their Microsoft operating systems and applications.
Saturday morning will begin with an annual meeting and election of NELA’s officers and directors before Jeffrey L. Hirsch of the law firm Robinson & Cole discusses “Crisis Management 2002” addressing a variety of risk management issues such as business interruption planning, public and employee relations and contingency planning.
Later in the day, “Where Are You Stuck?” will be presented by Izzy Gesell, founder and principal of Wide Angle Humor. Gesell will offer an interactive seminar designed to help trainers become more confident, spontaneous and effective with others.
Also throughout the event will be a golf tournament on Saturday afternoon at Mount Washington’s golf course. Cost is $75 per player per day and includes NELA greens fees, cart rental and a box lunch. Attendees may also pay $25 each to participate in a tennis tournament on Saturday at Mount Washington’s tennis courts.
Registration for the event is $170 each for members and $220 each for non-members.
