Nominations open for IFI board
As 2003 begins, candidates are being
sought to fill two openings on the International Fabricate
Institute’s board of directors.
As he will be stepping into the role of
IFI president this summer, Don Fawcett of Dependable Cleaners
will no longer serve as director of District 1, which includes
the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Also departing from his role as district
director will be Dan Martino of Martino’s Master
Drycleaners. He will remain on IFI’s board as
president-elect for the 2003-2004 term, leaving an opening in
District 5, which covers Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska,
North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Nominations for the open seats may be
submitted to each nominating committee, which, according to IFI
bylaws, is comprised of the presidents of each state or
regional association in the district and the outgoing IFI
director.
Each nominating committee has until
February 15, 2003 to offer at least one candidate per open
district.
Election ballots will be mailed out to all
IFI members on March 25. All ballots must be filled out and
returned with a postmark date no later than April 15 in order
to be valid.
Those interested in running for the new
District 1 spot should contact Don Fawcett at (617) 770-9230.
Nominations for director of District 5 should be requested by
calling Dan Martino at (262) 694-7545.
The IFI board consists of eight district
directors. Each year, two directors are elected to four-year
terms. Holdover board members this year include Barbara Harvey
of Severna Park, MD, District 2; Linda Ferguson of Pearl, MS,
District 6; Gary Dawson of Belleair Bluff, FL, District 3;
Steven Poulos of North Canton, OH, District 4; Gary Campbell of
Corvallis, OR, District 6. Jim Cripe, owner of Valet Cleaners
in Temple, TX, is the current president.
