Associations team-up for Pirate baseball outing promo
The Western Pennsylvania Cleaners and Laundry Association will offer a Pirate Game Promotion on April 27, 2003 when the Pittsburgh Pirates host the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Last year, the promotion proved successful as 225 tickets were purchased overall. The promotion will be much larger in scope this year: One thousand seats have been reserved and WPCL and PDCA drycleaners can purchase tickets at a rate of $5 each. Member cleaners are encouraged to purchase the tickets to give to plant employees as well as customers as part of a promotion designed to increase sales.
One suggested promotion for drycleaners is to offer two free tickets with every $35-$50 incoming order (at the regular price). Giving the tickets away is similar to offering a $10 discount, except customers are more likely to remember attending a Major League Baseball game than a monetary discount.
The tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All companies that purchase bundles of 50 ($250) or 100 tickets ($500) will receive scoreboard recognition during the game and be entered into a drawing where the winner gets the opportunity to throw out the first pitch.
Window signs advertising the promotion will be made available for participating drycleaners, who should receive the tickets about three weeks prior to the game.
The game is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 at PNC Park, the Pirates’ ballpark. The day will be Kids Hat Day and children 12 and under will receive a free hat.
WPCL is also planning a Giant Tailgate Party prior to the ballgame for participating cleaners, as well as their employees and customers.
