Associations announce topics for Clean
Clean
’03 is coming up
fast and those who want to capitalize on reduced
pre-registration costs and secure hotel lodgings should be
making plans.
The industry’s largest trade show,
scheduled from August 11-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center,
will be accepting early applications up until July 10. The cost
is $45; those who procrastinate until after that date must pay
$70 to attend.
For the first time ever, the Clean
Show’s format will include educational sessions on all
four mornings of the show, resulting in less overlap with the
hall’s exhibit hours.
Exhibit hours will begin at 10 a.m. on
opening day and 9 a.m. on subsequent days. Exhibits will close
at 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 3 p.m. on Thursday.
The educational sessions will run between
8 and 10 a.m. every day except Wednesday when they will run
from 8 to 11 a.m.
On Tuesday, “Give It to ’Em
How They Want It” will focus on giving customers what
they expect. IFI will use statistics and findings from the
Fabricare Foundation’s 2002 Drycleaning Usage &
Consumer Attitude Survey to show what customers want and how
cleaners can make sure they get it.
Employee motivation and turnover reduction
will be the topic of Thursday’s seminar, “Your
Employees Do Make A Difference,” and Friday’s
themed discussion will be how grassroots lobbying made a
difference recently in California and Chicago. The seminar is
called “How Many Cleaners Does It Take to Make a
Difference? Only One. You.”
Three other cosponsoring associations will
be presenting educational programs at Clean ’03,
including the Coin Laundry Association, which will host seminars on a variety of
topics, including: “Marketing Your Laundry Through
Radio/TV Commercials,” “Purchasing an Existing
Laundry vs. Building New: Narrowing Your Choices,”
“Keeping Your Laundry Safe” and “Evaluating
an Investment in the Coin Laundry Business.”
CLA will also offer attendees sessions on
“The State Utilities in the Self-service Laundry
Industry” and “Measuring Your Success: Projecting
New Store Income.”
The National Institute of Laundry
Management will tackle a variety of issues: “BioTerrorism:
Are You Prepared?”; “Wash Floor Automation:
What’s New and What Works?”; “Linen Handling
Systems: What’s New on the Market?”; and “How
to Select Automated Finishing/Folding Equipment.”
“How Information Technology and
Integrated Systems Can Enhance Your Business” will be one
of three seminars brought to attendees by the Textile Rental
Services Association of America. TRSA will also cover: “Guaranteed Wash
Quality” and “Benchmarking Services for Laundry
Operators and How ProfitPoint Users Will Gain the
Most.”
Clean ’03’s other cosponsors
are the Textile Care Allied Trades Association and the Uniform and Textile Service Association.
