Roto-cabinet finishing system
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Hoffman/New
Yorker has introduced the
Regal Roto-Cabinet system that combines a tensioning steam air
form, an air-operated pants topper and a steam tunnel in one
machine.
The new system uses a top-down steam and
air diverter system that provides greater fabric
Garments come out of the cabinet drier,
resulting in less finishing time. Productivity is enhanced
because a cabinet steam and dries a garment while a second
garment is being loaded.
Ten programs are available to accommodate
different fabrics. A manual override button lets the operator
extend or shorten any cycle.
The Regal cabinet can be converted to a
steam tunnel accommodating two to three garments on each side
that can finish at a rate of more than 100 garments an hour.
This unit can be equipped with a Hoffman electric boiler.
Customer premium
The 10-Minute Guide to Buying Quality
Clothes is a 28-page booklet written by Steve Boorstein, aka
The Clothing Doctor. Boorstein is also the author of the book,
The Ultimate Guide to Shopping and Caring for Clothing.
The 10-Minute Guide covers the basics of
fabrics, what to look for when shopping, and first-aid for
stain emergencies. The Golomb Group believes that providing
premiums such as this is better than using discounts and
coupons to attract and keep customers.
The booklets are available in minimum
quantities of 100. Included with orders of 200 or more is a
full-color window poster that promotes the availability of the
guide at the cleaner’s store.
Air compressor maintenance guide
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A “Cost Savings with Compressed Air
System Maintenance” is a new compressed air system guide
available from Kaeser
Compressors Inc.
The step-by-step guide can help any
facility that uses compressed air. The full-color-eight page
reference manual outlines maintenance activities for each
component of the system, including compressors, dryers,
filters, drains and after-coolers. Maintenance needs for
different component types are described and a “Problem
Solved” section gives practical solutions for common air
system problems. Another section offers suggestions for
improving the bottom line.
Also included are comprehensive
maintenance checklists, product diagrams, rules of thumb and a
reference library.
Web sites development for cleaners
NEW YORK, NY — The Neighborhood Cleaners Association has launched a new program that will
provide web sites for cleaners who want to promote their
business on the internet.
NCA will develop the content, provide
monthly updates and take care of hosting and domain name
registration for cleaners who participate in the program. Each
cleaner’s site will have a unique address and will be
linked to NCA’s main web site at www.ncaiclean.com.
NCA has developed a 25-page library from
which the cleaner’s site can be customized. Page topics
include shirt laundering, wedding gowns, leather care, tip of
the month and garment alerts among others. Monthly updates for
the “tips” and garment alert sections will be
provided.
Each site will be registered with major
search engines and linked to Mapquest to help customers find
the cleaners both on the web and on the ground.
Evaporative cooler
The 16-inch Cool-Space model has been
redesigned with an extra-large internal water reservoir. The
large reservoir lets the cooler fill up with water and run for
up to eight hours disconnected from the hose. This allows
placement in locations where a constant water source is not
available.
At the intake side of the cooler, water is
fed over eight-inch thick cooling pads that become soaked. On
the outflow side, a powerful fan pulls hot air through the
water soaked pads. The pads cool the hot air passing through,
dropping temperatures 5 to 25 degrees depending upon the
humidity. The cooled air is then blown to hot spots or at work
areas that need to keep cool.
Evaporative coolers work best in
environments that have good circulation, the company said.
Although they operate better in low humidity environments, they
can also work in high humidity with less of a temperature drop.
Environmental standards program
TAMPA, FL — As a member of the German association of the Chemical
Industry (VCI) Kreussler & Co. GmbH fulfills an obligation to the Responsible
Care initiative.
Responsible Care is a program to improve
the protection of health and the environment along with working
conditions of employees and the protection of citizens by
exceeding the normal requirements of the law.
Kreussler & Co. GmbH belongs to the

Kreussler completely avoids the use of
phosphates because of the euthrophic effect on waste water. The
company’s laundry products contain no components that are
listed in the EEC regulation 67/548/EWG Annex VI and its
laundry products are free of components with WGK 3 (the water
risk class).

(ethylendiamin-tetraaceticacid-tetrasodiumsalt), NTA
(nitriltriaceticacid-trisodiumsalt), Moschus-Xylol perfumes,
formalin, formalin depot substances and all laundry detergents
correspond to the German detergent law. This means that all
surfactants are biodegradable with minimum of 90 percent.
The company strives to manufacture laundry
detergents as concentrated as possible to save energy in
transportation, handling, manufacturing and storage, which also
has a positive effect for the environment.
