MILD announces plans for summer convention
This year, the Michigan Institute of Laundering & Drycleaning will be taking attendees “Back to the Future” for its 90th annual summer convention.
The event will be held from July 18-20 at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, MI.
“Our theme is indicative of our industry and the association,” said MILD Executive Director Lou Monticello. “Drycleaning is a changing industry and MILD has had to change to better serve the industry. We, like many cleaners, are focusing on service to our clients. ‘Back to the Future’ represents that theme as well.”
The convention will begin on Friday evening with a scavenger hunt, followed by a Jimmy Buffet theme party under the stars at the base of Crystal Mountains main ski slopes.
On Saturday, a golf outing will take place on the Mountain Course. Afterward, a cocktail reception will commence and the annual President’s Gala will usher in the association’s new officers.
IFI CEO Bill Fisher is this year’s scheduled keynote speaker. On Sunday morning, he will discuss the national scope of the industry and how it will affect Michigan.
MILD also plans to offer attendees a full educational program throughout the weekend. In addition to presenting its Management Training Series, the association will offer industry related programs, as well as regulatory updates by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
“Since 1913, this organization has been a leader both regionally and nationally,” added Monticello. “We look forward to celebrating that in grand fashion this summer.”
