WFI plans conference for September
The Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay,
WI, will be temporarily transformed into a veritable
“Treasure Island” when the Wisconsin
Fabricare Institute hosts
its annual fall conference and golf outing.
The event is planned for September 12-14.
Attendees can dress up and enjoy a
“Pirate Party” on Friday evening, which will
include a treasure hunt for children and a barbecue cook-out
for dinner. Each registered adult will also be given a key that
could potentially open up a cash-filled treasure chest.
On the morning of Saturday, Sept. 13, the
educational seminars will begin. John Mozingo, director of
management training for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh,
will present “Today I’ve Got to Get
Organized” from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. The session will focus
on time management principles and techniques for getting better
organized.
Later at noon, WFI will hold its golf
outing at The Orchards in Egg Harbor. In the evening, the
association will host a reception and Caribbean-themed buffet
dinner.
On Sunday morning, WFI will hold its
general membership meeting at 9 a.m.
There will also be roundtable discussions
planned from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Participants will include Dennis Schmitt
of Lindeman’s Cleaning, Inc., who will focus on
“Spotting/Problem Garments.” Jeff Fitzgerald of the
Herb Fitzgerald Company will provide knowledge of equipment
maintenance and Tom Grimm of One Hour Martinizing will discuss
advertising and marketing.
A pizza and pasta buffet lunch will be
served on the same day at 11:30 a.m.
Registration costs $145 per member for
everything, including golf; or $115 per person for those who
wish to attend everything except for the golf outing.
Non-members pay an additional $15 to attend all events.
Attendees may also purchase access to
individual events only. The Friday evening festivities cost $35
per person, as does the Saturday buffet breakfast and business
sessions. The Saturday reception and dinner costs $45 per
person and full access to the Sunday continental breakfast,
business sessions and pizza buffet lunch is $35 per person.
Golfers pay $65 each for 18 holes at The Orchards.
Non-members pay $5 more for each
individual registration.
A block of hotel rooms have been reserved
at the Stone Harbor Resort, located at 107 N. First Ave. in

occupancy. Reservations should be made prior to July 29 by
