Clean Show by the numbers
The final and official attendance tally
for Clean ’03 came to 16,526, 20 fewer than attended the
2001 show in New Orleans. Preliminary attendance figures had
indicated more than 17,000 people at the Las Vegas show, but
after auditing the registration lists and deleting duplications
and cancellations, the number was revised.
Thus the downward trend in Clean Show
attendance was not reversed, as had been earlier believed.
Nonetheless, show organizers were pleased with the results.
“By all accounts this was one of the
best Clean shows ever,” said David Cotter, incoming Clean
Executive committee chairman and CEO of the Textile Care Allied
Trades Association.
Attendance was up in one key area. The
number of non-exhibitor attendees was 11,051, 5.5 percent more
than two years ago. The 2003 show also drew more people from
outside the United States — 1,849 to be exact, an
increase of 283 from 2001.
The show had 538 companies filling 250,150
net square feet of exhibition space. Those numbers were down
from 562 companies using 270,757 square feet in 2001. But the
ranks of exhibitors this year included 127 new companies and 28
companies that did not participate in Clean ’01 but had
been part of previous Clean shows.
Clean ’05 is scheduled for the
Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, June 23-26,
2005.
