Overloked in Clean Show report
To the Editor:
Your September issue contains a column by
Don Desrosiers in which he described many of the new
innovations in shirt finishing that were displayed at the Clean
Show in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I guess that time and space
must have been limited and he did not have the opportunity to
see our new shirt unit, the TreviStar.
The TreviStar is very different from most
of the shirt units on the market. It is a two-piece system: a
body press and a cuff and collar unit. Each piece is capable of
operating on only 80 PSI steam pressure. The cuff and collar
press has a self-contained vacuum.
The TreviStar is very easy to use. There
is only one foot pedal. Each step of the pedal moves the
machine to the next step in the operation. The machine has a
simple to understand control panel allowing for programming of
ten different cycles. There is even a capability to add a pause
to the steam/air sequence to allow the operator to spray
additional starch directly onto the shirt during the cycle to
provide an even stiffer finish.
Customers using this machine report that
they are achieving production numbers on a par with most single
buck cabinet units with a major improvement in quality. There
are no broken buttons, crows feet impressions under the
armholes, uneven box pleats, or shine on dark colored fabrics.
In addition, an exclusion button on the control panel allows
the operator to eliminate the front clamp and finish polo
shirts on the same machine.
For those customers seeking something
different and innovative in shirt finishing, we welcome them to
contact us for further information.
