SEFA slates two all-day workshops in
Atlanta
The South Eastern Fabricare Association is offering two all-day workshops in
October, one on wetcleaning and another to help cleaners
improve all aspects of their business, from behind the counter
to the back of the plant.
Both sessions will take place at the
Embassy Suites Hotel Buckhead at 3285 Peachtree Rd. in Atlanta,
GA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m..
On Saturday, Oct. 25, “Counter
Service and Production” will be presented by industry
expert Martin Young.
Young will outline the many roles that
counter service representatives play throughout their work day
and will emphasize the importance of maintaining a good
attitude and appearance.
Attendees will also learn about handling
customers, internal communication, customer needs and how body
language and expressions speak louder than actual words.
The workshop will go even further behind
the counter — all the way to the back of the plant where
stain removal, finishing, inspection, assembly and packaging
take place.
Young will offer tips on how to be more
productive at tagging, recleaning, maintaining the work area
and other topics.
The cost is $99 for SEFA/IFI members and
$49 for additional members from the same plant. Non-members pay
$129 each initially; however, a reduced fee of $79 per person
is available for additional personnel.
On Sunday, Oct. 26, Young will teach a
second workshop on “Basic and Advanced
Wetcleaning.”
Attendees will discover the difference
between wetcleaning, drycleaning and laundry — becoming
knowledgeable on the proper methods of wetcleaning. Tips on the
correct equipment to use and how to use it will also be
presented.
The cost for the “Basic and Advanced
Wetcleaning” class is $99 for SEFA/IFI members and $89
for each additional person from the same member plant.
Non-members pay $129 each.
Attendees can register by calling
SEFA, (912) 355-3364 or (877) 707-7332.

5791 Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The program will cover drycleaning systems
operation, maintenance and inspection, special cleaning cycles,
fabric/garment testing, and wet and dryside spotting. The cost
is $59 for members and $79 for non-members.
On Saturday, October 4, “How to
Survive and Prosper in a Highly Competitive Market” will
aim to assist Korean cleaners.
Starting at 8 p.m., the three-hour dinner
and seminar will be presented by Sam Choi, IFI Vice President
of Asian Affairs.
Cost is $19 per person. The event will be

Ave. and Stanley Rd. in Greensboro, NC.
On the following day, “Environmental
Compliance” will be presented by Lisa Taber, program
