How to build profitable routes seminar planned for Nov. 15
Cleaners looking for the route to success are invited to attend Al Robson’s Building Profitable Routes seminar sponsored by Biz Builder Services.
The seminar will take place on Saturday, November 15 at the Holiday Inn Select in La Mirada, CA. It will focus on all aspects of profitable route building, which Robson says is one of the quickest and most effective ways to grow retail drycleaning sales.
Attendees will learn about route penetration, including how to find and sign up customers initially, as well as how to find additional good customers. Both residential delivery and commercial business customers will be discussed.
The session will also take an in-depth look at: route mapping; the pros and cons of using a driver as a sales representative; how to financially compensate drivers and/or sales representatives; reporting relationships for route personnel; daily, weekly and monthly reports; how to maximize the sales volume of each route customer; and how to calculate the profitability of routes.
The seminar will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The cost is $399 for a single attendee or $349 each for two or more attendees. The all-day seminar includes a continental breakfast and box lunch.

San Diego association closes down
The San Diego Dry Cleaners Association recently decided to disband after providing a local support system for cleaners in the area for many years.
San Diego cleaners will be able to receive industry guidance and assistance from the California Cleaners Association, which is offering complimentary six-month memberships to cleaners who were currently members of SDDCA at the time of its dissolution.
In a press release announcing the offer, CCA stated: “Association membership is so important with all the changes happening within our industry between new regulations, new technology and the actions of our legislature. And, CCA is happy to offer these cleaners a way to continue their participation in a vibrant industry association.”
To make the transition, CCA’s San Diego director Bob LaFave of Fairlane Cleaners will be available to offer assistance and answer questions that San Diego area cleaners have about membership and CCA. His phone number is (619) 425-3263.
