GreenEarth taps Sanyo
for licensing in Japan
The appointment last month of Sanyo Electric as the GreenEarth Cleaning Master Licensor for Japan opens the door for silicone drycleaning in the Far East.
As Master Licensor, Sanyo

is committed to marketing, training and licensing drycleaners in Japan to use the GreenEarth’s patented silicone drycleaning process. This effort will use an “open playing field” concept whereby all manufacturers of drycleaning equipment, detergents, additives, and silicone solvent will be able to sell their products to licensed drycleaners in Japan. In order to qualify, products must meet safety and environmental standards as specified by GreenEarth Cleaning.
Keiji Fuse, president of Sanyo Electric Techno Clean, observed that Sanyo is interested in being affiliated with GreenEarth Cleaning because, “Japan is one of the advanced nations for environmental concerns. Sanyo’s business slogan is ‘Let’s conduct business and our lives in an environment-friendly manner.’”
“Over the years, we have shifted from perc to hydrocarbon in Japan, and we believe that GreenEarth’s silicone solvent represents the next generation of drycleaning,” he added.
Jim Barry, chairman of GreenEarth Cleaning, said, “GreenEarth is honored to have Sanyo Electric as our partner in Japan, the second largest drycleaning market in the world. Sanyo is a worldwide business leader that is concerned about our environment, and their decision speaks volumes as to the future of our industry.”
