The TurboWash system combines Maytag’s exclusive new spray baffles and programmed tumble patterns to provide the optimum balance of cleaning power and water conservation.
The baffles deliver the water directly where it’s needed for maximum saturation with less water, while the computer-controlled TurboWash tumble patterns continuously turn laundry through the wash cycle for better cleaning results.
The washer/extractors are among the heaviest on the market with all-304 stainless steel top, front and sides.
The Maytag commercial rigid-mount front-load washer/extractors with the TurboWash™ system are available in load capacities of 18, 25, 35, 50 and 80 pounds.
The machines feature computer controls that allow 20 programmable cycles with up to 99 steps each, with the option of seven different languages. An optional liquid chemical supply system is also available to properly measure laundry chemicals for optimal cleaning and laundry room cleanliness.

Odor removal
NAPERVILLE, IL — R. R. Street & Co. Inc., has introduced ODORex which uses odor encapsulation technology to grab odors commonly present in water-soluble stains and odorous areas of garments.
Used in treating wetside stains, it will stop the emission of odors when the stain is treated with steam or during the stain removal and finishing process. It also ensures that customers will not experience any foul odor remaining on the garment.
Street’s recommends ODORex for use on all water-soluble stains and on all garment areas with high odor incidence, such as underarm areas of shirts and blouses. It can be used in drycleaning and wetcleaning applications and is safe on any water-safe fabrics or dyes.
ODORex comes in a 16-oz. flow-control bottle. For treating larger areas and stains, a calibrated ODORex spray bottle is available for mixing one-to-one with water.

Fire suppression system for dryers
RIPON, WI — Alliance Laundry Systems has expanded its CARE System, a fire suppression system designed to diminish laundry fires in dryer cylinders, to its 120- and 170-lb. tumblers.
With a properly installed CARE System, laundry managers and property owners can be assured that at all times the CARE System is monitoring their tumbler’s cylinder temperature. The system shuts the tumbler down if it senses extreme temperature and sprays the tumbler contents with water and continues to monitor cylinder temperature and reactivates if necessary.
The system can be connected to work in concert with an auxiliary alarm. With this connection, the local fire department may be notified, or a light, alarm, security pager, cell phone, etc., could alert personnel when the temperature within the cylinder exceeds normal operation.
The CARE control and water valves are located outside of the cabinet to protect them from potential heat damage. Redundant sensors and water valves further improve the system’s robustness.
The CARE system is available as an option on all 50-, 75-, 120- and 170-lb. on-premise tumblers, with either manual or electronic controls.

Collar and cuff soil
TULSA, OK — Royaltone’s Ringo is a collar and cuff soil release additive that eliminates hand spraying and squirting of collar solution and waiting for it to dry. It also eliminates scrubbing of shirt collars and cuffs that wears them out and does away with most rewashing. Ringo works in the laundry wheel in all laundry wash systems, with any detergent in either hot or cold water.
The company said that Ringo will not affect color or wear out collars and cuffs. It is biodegradable, odorless and contains no hazardous solvents, phosphates, bleach, alkalies, acids or ammonia.
One ounce of Ringo is used in the laundry wheel for every ten pounds of heavily soiled and stained shirts.

Coin laundry survey
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Coin Laundry Association has released its 2003 Official Results Report of its nationwide coin laundry industry survey.
Since 1997, CLA has worked with Readex, an independent research company, to gather industry-specific information and compose a profile of coin laundries in the United States. Questions for the randomly selected laundry respondents are intended to paint a picture of today’s typical coin laundry, hinting at future trends and serving as a benchmark for compromise in future surveys.
The report also serves as a reference for those researching the industry or anyone currently operating as coin laundry. Charts and graphs help illustrate and interpret the information and provide year-to-year comparisons.
The survey sought information about total gross revenue, average vend prices, equipment mixes and ancillary services. Also covered are average employee wages, bonus and commission structures, gross revenue spent on utilities and average rent per square foot. Responses to each question are broken down geographically.
The publication is free to CLA members and available for sale to non-members.
