IFI seeking nominations for District 7 and
8 directors
The International Fabricare Institute is
currently accepting nominations for District 7 and 8 positions.
The deadline is February 15, 2003.
District 7 covers much of the western
geographical region of the United States, including the states
of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon,
Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Currently, Gary Campbell of
Campbell’s Cleaners in Cornwallis, Oregon, holds the
slot, but he plans on retiring from District 7 at the
completion of his 2003-2004 term.
Similarly, Harvey Gershenson of Sterling
Westwood Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, will retire from his position
as District 8 director at the end of the term. He filled in for
Perry Pulos, who passed away in November of 2002.
District 8 covers California and Hawaii.
In order to qualify as a director,
nominees must be IFI members residing in the district for which
they are seeking to be elected.
Anyone interested in applying for either
opening should contact the chairperson or any of the members of
the nominating committees in each district.
According to IFI’s bylaws, the
nominating committees are comprised of the presidents of each
state or regional association in the district; the chairperson
of each committee is the outgoing director of that district.
Each committee will be required to submit
at least one candidate to IFI by February 15 of next year.
About a month later, election ballots will
be mailed on March 25 to all IFI members in good standing in
Districts 7 and 8.
Then, the ballots must be filled out and
returned with a postmark date no later than April 15, 2003.
For more information on the District 7
post, contact Gary Campbell at (541) 752-3794. Those inquiring
about District 8 nomination guidelines should contact Harvey
Gershenson at (310) 287-2431.
