IDC begins planning for June convention in
Germany
A full range of topics will be discussed
when the International Drycleaners Congress meets in Frankfurt, Germany, June 8 to
June 12. The convention will coincide with the Texcare
International show, with the timing allowing visitors to attend
both outstanding events.
The IDC program will open with a keynote
presentation by Dr. Josef Kurz of the Hohenstein Institutes. He
will survey “Where we were, where we are, where we have
to go.”
Among other subjects will be environmental
advantages, productivity and quality, and marketing and
advertising.
Reports on the state of the industry in
countries around the world will be presented and there will be
ample opportunity for networking with many of the best
drycleaners in the world, one of the most important features of
the annual meeting.
The convention will be at the
Steigenberger Frankfurterhof, with additional rooms available
at the nearby Miramar Hotel.
Despite cancellations, Texcare is
optimistic
Although disappointed that three large
companies have pulled out of the June 6-10 exhibition in
Frankfurt, Germany, the Advisory Council of Texcare
International remains optimistic about the show’s
prospects.
The Advisory Council, which represents
exhibitors and visitors from the sector, was dismayed by the
decision of the three German companies, Ecolab, Kannegiesser
and Jensen-Senking, which changed their minds about taking part
in the show.
In the absence of those three large
laundry firms, the Advisory Council believes the show could
give additional emphasis to suppliers of laundry equipment for
small to medium-sized companies.
In the meantime, the council noted that
around 200 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the
fair. They include Lavatec, Pellerin Milnor, Electrolux Laundry
Systems, Girbau, Böwe, Miele, Veit, Ipso, Renzacci, Ilsa
and Kreussler. The organizers anticipate about 17,000 visitors
will attend the show.
Programs by two research institutes
— the Hohenstein Institute and WFK, the Cleaning
Technology Research Institute — and the Intex
Association will offer an in-depth look at various topics to
provide expert training and greater knowledge.
