February SEFA seminars cover spotting and finishing
Removing stains and producing a quality finished garment are equally important to the success of a drycleaning plant, so the South Eastern Fabricare Association will help cleaners learn both skills in two upcoming Florida seminars.
Cleaning expert Jane Zellers, who also works as the class instructor for the Southwest Drycleaners Association’s school located in Lubbock, TX, will offer helpful tips to attendees in February.
“Professional Finishing” on Saturday, Feb. 21 will focus on the three variables of finishing that make the process simpler. Zellers will offer live demonstrations on advanced finishing equipment.
On the following day, she will present “Spot Safe,” which is designed to help cleaners improve their stain removal aptitude. The class will examine some recent “problem stains” that are making their way into cleaning plants everywhere.
Additionally, Zellers will outline the correct uses of acids, alkalis and lubricants, explaining how each reacts to certain fibers, fabrics, dyes and finishes.
Both seminars are scheduled to take place at Unipress, Inc., at 3501 Queen Palm Dr. in Tampa, Florida.
The cost is $99 for SEFA/IFI members; however, each additional member from the same plant only pays $89 each. Non-members pay $129 each.
For more information on the seminars, call (813) 623-3731 or visit www.sefa.org.
