IDC to help prepare
for market changes
“Meeting the Challenge of a Changing Market” will be the theme of the International Drycleaners Congress convention in Frankfurt, Germany, June 8-12.
The IDC convention overlaps with the Texcare exhibition which takes place in Frankfurt June 6-10. In addition to attending the trade show, IDC conventioneers will also be able to participate in a post-convention tour of Switzerland June 12-20.
The convention itself begins with a welcome reception on Tuesday, June 8. The formal convention opening takes place the next morning, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Josef Kurz of the Hohenstein Institutes on "Where We Were, Where We Are, Where We Have To Go."
Tentatively planned topics for the business sessions that day include “Environmental Advantages,” “Productivity and Quality” and “Marketing and Advertising.”
The opening program on Thursday will be the “State of Our International Industry” in which representatives from around the world will brief attendees on changes and trends in the industry in their nations. Fellowship presentations will follow that program. Younger IDC members who have traveled internationally will report on what they learned. The morning will conclude with the IDC General Membership Meeting. The IDC banquet and entertainment will be held that evening.
Friday will feature a Rhine River excursion. The traditional Sayonara Breakfast will close the program on Saturday morning.
Convention headquarters will be the Steigenberger Frankfurterhof with additional rooms at the nearby Miramar Hotel.
